Walk The Line

  • Is it just me or are you psyched about the upcoming Johnny Cash tribute movie, Walk The Line?

If you don't know Johnny Cash, then read this brief bio right now. Want more? Go here.

I can't say that I am a HUGE fan of Johnny, but there's no denying that his music was powerful and sincere. And, growing up in the '60s, it was easy to catch Johnny on TV, or on the radio. Heck, he even hosted The Johnny Cash Show on TV from 1969 to 1971. According to his obituary on the CNN website, "In the fall of 1969, he was considered by many to be the hottest act in the world, even outselling the Beatles. That year, his work accounted for 5 percent of all record sales in the U.S." And there were plenty of adult fans to get the buzz from (my parent's friends all seemed to love the guy). So I must have been infected as a kid and not really known it.

I was surprised to see how much I enjoyed Johnny Cash tunes when I picked up a Best of CD several years ago. And, when I heard the movie was being released, and dusted off that CD, the thrill was still there.

I just sought out the official Johnny Cash website and found a very interesting tribute video created by Tom Bresh (son of Merle Travis) called Thank You Johnny. Take 6 minutes and check it out.

Then, if you have the time, go here and listen for a while.

This has nothing to do with B2B Marcom and everything to do with soul.
