Biography
Mike Fenner is responsible for the technical support function of Indium Corporation's European operations, as well as long-term projects for technical marketing and manufacturing.
Mike's experience extends to electronics-grade solders and fluxes and conductive and non-conductive adhesives.
He has been in the vanguard of a number of joining innovations in the electronics assembly industry, including the introductions of wave soldering, surface mount assembly, production vapour phase soldering, flux removal and phasing out CFC's, characterization of surface mount joining and cleaning products, and the development of innovative power die-attach processes (now standard industry practices). He has written numerous articles and papers on these topics as well as in other areas.
Mike is an original member and former vice chairman of the United Kingdom SMART Group. He has worked at the BBC and has held senior positions in Alpha Metals, Dage, and Cookson.
Mike is a Fellow of the Institute of Circuit Technologists and of the Institute of Sales and Marketing Management. Mike lives near Banbury, Oxfordshire, UK where he tries to keep his 60's sports car on the road. He also enjoys bush camping in Africa whenever a surplus of time and cash coincide.
