Indium Corporation's Seager Promoted to SCP Manager





Indium Corporation announces the promotion of Andy Seager to the position of Sales Channel Partner Manager.
Andy is responsible for providing direction and support to Indium's network of Sales Channel Partners in Europe, the Middle East, and Africa, with a focus on increasing sales of the company's solder products. He also works with the European sales team to support Indium's multi-national customers.
Andy joined the Indium Corporation sales team in 1996. He has 19 years of experience, working in both contract electronics manufacturing and distributor organizations. He has held positions in production, quality assurance, process engineering, and sales.
Andy is based at Indium Corporation facilities in Milton Keynes, UK and reports to Guido Lanoye, European Sales Manager.

Indium Corporation Announces Promotion





Indium Corporation announces the promotion of Anita Brown to Marketing Communications Manager for its worldwide operations. She continues to report to Rick Short, Director of Marketing Communications, and is based at Indium's global headquarters in Clinton, NY.
Anita is responsible for the creation and planning of marcom strategies, as well as program implementation. This includes development and deployment of marketing communications programs in support of Indium's sales channel partners. Anita's oversight responsibilities involve establishing and monitoring policies and practices for the creation of company literature, exhibits, and websites. Additionally, she will establish and track performance against budget for exhibits, advertising, and special projects.
"Since joining Indium in 2004, Anita has helped establish many new processes and best-practice procedures for our trade show, literature, advertising, and public relations activities," said Short. "As Marketing Communications Manager, she will make our marketing communications resources even more effective and efficient."
Anita holds a bachelor's degree in Business & Public Management from State University of New York Institute of Technology. She is currently working on her MBA in Technology Management; completion is expected in December of 2008.

Indium Corporation Expands Sales Network in Western USA





Indium Corporation has named Recht Associates as its sales representative for Northern California and Nevada.
Recht Associates now sells Indium Corporation's Thermal Interface Materials (TIM) solder TIMs, non-reflow products, compressible TIM Heat-Spring, liquid metal, and burn-in TIM.

Indium Corporation Announces Promotions for Eric Bastow, Mario Scalzo, and Tom Pearson





Indium Corporation recently announced the promotion of three individuals - all based at Indium's headquarters in Clinton, NY.
Eric Bastow has been promoted to Senior Technical Support Engineer. In his new role, Eric is responsible for supporting customer inquiries and traveling to customer sites to provide a higher level of product support in customer related projects. Eric joined Indium Corporation in 2001, where he started as a Lab Technician in Research and Development.
Eric holds an associate's degree in Engineering Science from Herkimer County Community College. Additionally, he is an SMTA Certified Process Engineer and has a Six Sigma Green Belt Certification from Dartmouth College's Thayer School of Engineering. Eric resides in West Winfield, NY.
Mario Scalzo has been promoted to Senior Technical Support Engineer. Mario is responsible for supporting Indium's product lines and for advanced SMT problem solving, as well as special assignments involving key customer-related projects, product education, and process training of new employees. Mario joined Indium Corporation in 2000. He served, most recently, as a Technical Support Engineer supporting the North America and Asia regions.
Mario holds a bachelor's degree in Chemistry from Saint Anselm College. He also holds a certificate from the American Chemical Society for Professional Education. In addition, he is an SMTA Certified Process Engineer and has a Six Sigma Brown Belt from Dartmouth College's Thayer School of Engineering. Mario lives in Rome, NY.
Tom Pearson has been promoted to the position of Inside Sales Manager for Indium's Solder Products, Global Processes. Tom is responsible for managing the inside sales process across the Americas, Europe, and Asia. His focus is on small business, resource management, quality improvement, and sales of all solder products. Tom has worked at Indium Corporation for 24 years, serving most recently as Market Manager for Small Accounts.
Tom holds an associate's degree in Mechanical Engineering and is currently pursuing his bachelor's degree in Business Management from Utica College. Tom resides in Rome, NY.

Indium Corporation Expands Solar Engineering Team





Indium Corporation has announced the expansion of its solar engineering team with the appointment of Clark Scharett and Justin Weiler as Manufacturing Process Engineers. Clark is based at Indium's new facility in the Utica Business Park, Utica, NY, and Justin is based at Indium's Robinson Road manufacturing facility in Clinton, NY.
Clark Scharett joins Indium's Solar Copper Tabbing team, supporting process development, equipment selection and installation, and high-volume commercialization initiatives. He brings to Indium more than 16 years experience as a senior project engineer and plant engineer. He most recently served as Manufacturing Engineer with Goodrich Corporation in Rome, NY, USA.
Clark has expertise in both design and installation of a wide range of manufacturing and facility equipment, as well as in manufacturing process optimization. He has associates' degrees in English and Science and a bachelor's degree in Mechanical Technology. He is currently pursuing a master's degree in Advanced Technology at the State University of New York Institute of Technology.
Justin Weiler is responsible for solar rotatable and planar target manufacturing, including process development and optimization and new technology research. Prior to joining Indium he was an Engineering Analyst with Critical Imaging, LLC, and also has been involved in research focused on alternative energy modeling and simulation.
Justin holds a bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering from the Rochester Institute of Technology and a master's degree in Aerospace Engineering from Georgia Tech.

Indium Corporation Announces New Technical Support Manager for Asia-Pacific Region





Indium Corporation announces that Thomas TONG Boon Hwa has joined Indium Corporation as a Technical Support Manager for the Asia-Pacific Region. He is based in Singapore and reports to Bill Brunstedt, Asia-Pacific Sales Director.
Thomas provides technical support throughout all of Asia-Pacific region, including China. He will also continue the growth of the technical team in the area.
Thomas has 20 years of experience in the SMT, semiconductor, and solar industries, encompassing both processes and electronics equipment. He has a bachelor's degree in Manufacturing Technology from the National University of Singapore and is a Certified SMTA Process Engineer and a Certified Quality Engineer (American Society of Quality).

Indium Corporation Technology Experts Presenting at SMTAI





Five of Indium Corporation's technology experts will be presenting technical findings at SMTA International, (SMTAI) August 17-21, 2008 in Orlando Fl.:

Dr. Lee will chair a technical session entitled, Assessment of Lead-Free Reliability on Tuesday, August 19, 10:00am - 11:30am. He will also present at the technical session for Impact and Fatigue Reliability of Lead-Free Solders on the Superior Drop Test Performance of SACT Solders and Its Mechanism on Wednesday, August 20, 3:00pm - 5:30pm. In addition, he will be a panelist for the session on Lead-Free Alternatives on Thursday, August 21, 8:00am - 9:30am.
Dr. Lasky and Tim Jensen will present the tutorial, Implementing a Halogen-Free Circuit Board Assembly Process on Monday, August 18, 8:00am -11:30am.
Dr. Lasky will also be a panelist for the session on Evolving Technologies and Current Issues for Lead-Free Materials on Monday, August 18, 3:30pm - 5:00pm. He will also chair a technical session focused on Alternate Lead-Free Alloys on Tuesday, August 19, 3:30pm - 5:00pm.

David Preische will present as part of SMTAI's first Alternative Energy Symposium. His paper, titled Alternative Energy: Fuel Cells and Solar Cells Enter High Volume Manufacturing will be presented on Monday, August 18, 8:00am - 9:30am.

Dr. Lee is a world-renown soldering expert and an SMTA Member of Distinction. He has extensive experience in the development of solder pastes, fluxes, high-temperature polymers, encapsulants for microelectronics, underfills, and adhesives. His current research interests cover advanced materials for interconnects, and packaging for electronics and optoelectronics applications, with emphasis on both high-performance and low-cost of ownership.
Dr. Lasky, holder of the prestigious SMTA Founder's Award, is a world-renown process expert and an Instructional Professor at Dartmouth College. He has over 25 years of experience in electronics and optoelectronic packaging and assembly. He has authored or edited five books and numerous technical papers and holds several patent disclosures. Dr. Lasky also authors a technology blog which can be found at www.indium.com/drlasky.
Tim Jensen has a Bachelor's Degree in Chemical Engineering from Clarkson University. He has authored technical publications and numerous process and technical guidelines. Tim is a member of the SMTA and participates actively in several IPC standards development committees.
Amanda Hartnett has a Bachelor's Degree in Chemistry from Utica College and previously worked as a research lab technician at Cornell University focusing on the physical properties of silicon. She has authored technical papers on thermal management and microelectronics packaging materials. Amanda is active in several industry organizations including SPIE, IMAPS, and the IPC. She is also a member of the American Chemical Society.
David Preische has over 20 years of experience in electronics assembly, semiconductor assembly, thermal management, solar, and metals and chemicals. David is an active member and speaker on several national and international societies, including Sales & Marketing Executives International and the National Association of Sales Professionals.

Indium Corporation Expands Sales Team in the Asia/Pacific



Indium Corporation announces the addition of three Area Sales Managers to its Asia/Pacific Operations (APO) team. Ricky A. Canlas operates from Indium's offices in the Philippines, Winston Chew is based at Indium's Asia-Pacific Operations office in Singapore, and Park Tae Hyun oversees sales activities in South Korea. All three managers report to Indium Corporation's APO Regional Sales Manager, Irene Leow.
As Area Sales Manager for the Philippines, Ricky Canlas is responsible for sales growth of Indium's soldering products. Ricky's efforts will focus primarily on the semiconductor assembly markets. He will work closely with Greenchem, Indium's regional sales representative in the Philippines. Ricky holds a bachelor's degree in Science and Electrical Engineering and has more than 10 years experience as a process engineer in the semiconductor industry.
Winston Chew is responsible for sales activities in Malaysia, Thailand, Vietnam, Singapore, Taiwan, India, Philippines, Japan, and South Korea. He will focus on developing and managing the sales growth of Indium Corporation soldering products. In addition, Winston will oversee the activities of Indium's local sales teams, distributors, and sales representatives. He earned his bachelor's degree with honors in Management Studies.
Park Tae Hyun will focus on the sales of Indium Corporation soldering products, with a particular focus on the Korean semiconductor assembly markets. This includes providing sales and technical support to key accounts, and working closely with Indium's two Korea-based distributors, Sungi Trading and Top Solutions. Park has 12 years of experience in the semiconductor industry and holds a bachelor's degree in Metallurgical Engineering.
