Indium Corporation Interns Join Utica Mayor to Beautify City

July 8, 2016

Members of Indium Corporation's College Internship Program joined City of Utica Mayor Robert Palmieri Wednesday on the City's weekly Quality of Life Sweep.

"Community service is a critical component of the learning experience for students in our College Internship Program," said Jim McCoy, Indium Corporation's Talent Acquisition Coordinator. "As Utica's Technology Company®, Indium Corporation is pleased to make this one of the many community events it participates in throughout the year."

Now in its fifth year, the Quality of Life Sweeps help make the city cleaner and safer, while giving community members an opportunity to engage with City leaders.

"Indium Corporation is a great company that has made many contributions to our community," Mayor Palmieri said. "I commend and thank the young professionals of Indium who volunteered their time to help make Utica a better place."

With the Boilermaker Road Race just days away, the team worked alongside City department heads and members of the Department of Public Works to ensure that the race route is in top shape for both runners and spectators. Indium Corporation also has a team of 28 running on Sunday.

"It is unique that Indium Corporation has enabled us to give back to the community," said Lucia Forte, Indium Corporation Marketing Communications Intern. "Helping with the city's preparations for race day added a new level of appreciation for the work that goes into this community-wide event."
