Indium Corporation’s Liyakathali Koorithodi, Senior Technical Support Engineer, will present at the launch of a new SMTA chapter in Bangalore, India on September 25.

Liyakathali’s presentation, Lead-Free Alternative Alloys, discusses the development of low cost alternatives to near-eutectic SAC alloys for Pb-free assembly. His presentation will compare alternative Pb-free alloys and explore whether existing processes need to be modified for alternative alloys.

Liyakathali provides technical support for Indium Corporation’s electronics assembly materials, semiconductor and advanced assembly materials, solar photovoltaic, and thermal management customers in India. He has more than 13 years of experience in electronics assembly manufacturing. Liyakathali has a Diploma in Mechanical Engineering from the Department of Technical Education, Government of Kerala, and is an SMTA-certified SMT Process Engineer. He earned his Six Sigma Green Belt from Motorola University (TQMI Chennai).
