Indium Corporation's Vareha-Walsh Elected to MMTA Board of Directors

May 7, 2019

Indium Corporation’s Donna Vareha-Walsh, Director, Metals Business Unit, has been elected to the Minor Metals Trade Association (MMTA) board of directors and was named interim treasurer of the organization’s management team.

MMTA is the world’s largest association involved with minor metals. Its international membership consists of companies actively involved in all aspects of the international minor metals sector. Founded in 1973, MMTA has evolved from covering the markets and applications of just seven elements to 49 metals and organizes a diverse range of international conferences and events.

The MMTA board of directors is comprised of employees of MMTA member companies that stand for election and serve on a voluntary basis. The MMTA board creates subcommittees and taskforces to assist with specific tasks, while defining goals and moving projects forward.

“As a regular speaker at MMTA’s global conferences, I know how essential it is to keep association members informed and up to date on the market’s latest changes and trends,” Vareha-Walsh said. “I am eager to assist the MMTA’s efforts by sharing Indium Corporation’s 85 years of metals industry leadership and expertise.”

Vareha-Walsh is responsible for the sourcing of critical raw materials such as indium, gallium, germanium, tin, silver, and other products and services that support Indium Corporation’s manufacturing operations, as well as the trading of metals and sales of reclaim services for Indium Corporation’s Korean operation. She has more than 15 years of metals market experience from numerous roles and responsibilities, including Director of Global Procurement for a global premium alloy company, and Director of Metallurgical Operations and Procurement for a global tungsten-based business. She also has experience in finance as a Business Unit Controller, sales expertise as Director of Sales and New Business Development Manager, and has participated in metals recycling and scrap/reclaim markets. Vareha-Walsh earned a bachelor’s degree in finance from Duquesne University and an MBA from the University of Pittsburgh. She is a Certified Public Accountant (CPA), holds certificates in leadership development and manufacturing excellence, and holds a Lean Green Belt.
