Indium Corporation earned American Red Cross Platinum Status by collecting 136 units of blood from seven blood drive events throughout this past year.
Each unit of blood collected takes the donor one hour to give and has the potential to save three lives.
“This honor demonstrates that ‘Indium People Care’ is more than a slogan – it’s what distinguishes us as Utica’s Technology Company®,” said Dawn Roller, Indium Corporation Director of Human Resources. “Our Indium Corporation employees have exemplified the meaning of community service through their support of our community and neighbors.”
To earn Platinum Status, an organization must host at least six blood drives per year, confirm drive dates six months in advance, and reach goal benchmarks – 90 percent of the overall goal, as well as red cell and type O blood collection goals.
“The Red Cross is extremely thankful to Indium Corporation and its employee sponsor Anne McKerrow for providing staff easy access to donation opportunities,” said Linda M. Belton, Account Manager for American Red Cross Biomedical Services. “And we are so incredibly appreciative of each donor who chose to give blood.”
