Why I Wanted to be the Indium Applications Manager

  • To readers of this blog: I’ll be chatting with you much more this year.

For the past 3 years I’ve been consumed by the endeavor of manufacturing our solder preform products (mostly focusing on Sn/Pb, Bi-contained, and SAC alloys). It has been a great experience, and I’ve learned a lot along the way. Unfortunately, I haven’t been at liberty to discuss many of the interesting (and proprietary) things I was working on.

Moving forward to 2017: I’ve changed roles at Indium Corporation and am now managing indium-based applications (Indium Applications Manager). Although I really enjoyed what I was doing – I couldn’t pass up the opportunity to work with the material that fascinates me the most – indium!

This year I’ll post about all different aspects of indium – from practical application hints to potential future uses of indium, we will explore this element together. If you have any ideas for future posts (or questions about indium in general) click here to send me an email.

I was a hand model in this photo (above) of indium used as a thermal interface, taken over 10 years ago. Now indium is the focus – all indium, all day. I'm looking forward to helping engineers across the world find new and exciting uses for indium. I'm looking for you. Reach out to me!
