Indium- and gallium-containing compounds and metals play an important role in various battery and energy storage technologies. The most prominent examples include lithium thionyl chloride (LiSOCl2) and alkaline (Zn/MnO2) battery chemistries.

  • Lithium chloride batteries can operate at high temperatures by using a gallium-based electrolyte made from our gallium trichloride compound.
  • These batteries are used in downhole oil and gas production and exploration, and when the highest energy density together with ultra-stable voltage is needed.
Pourable Compound for Easier Production Processes
  • Our EZ-Pour® product is gallium chloride in pellet form; it does not clump or stick.
  • EZ-Pour® simplifies the production process.
Alkaline Batteries
  • Indium inhibits outgassing and swelling in alkaline batteries.
  • Indium hydroxide or indium trichloride (in both powder or dissolved form) are available.
Shot, Solutions, and Powder Compounds
  • Depending on the manufacturing setup, different forms of indium are required.
