Products Compounds Indium Acetate

Indium Acetate

Indium Acetate (In(CH3COO)3) is an organic compound used in liquid chemical reactions. It has been used in alkaline battery manufacturing, but is also essential for manufacturing indium phosphide (InP) quantum dots, which play a significant role in advanced flat panel displays, enhancing color precision. Indium Corporation’s expertise ensures a dependable supply chain and unwavering quality standards.

Indium Corporation provides three grades of indium acetate to meet a variety of needs.

The standard grade indium acetate produced at Indium Corporation is basic acetate, and therefore will contain more indium than suggested by stoichiometry. In standard-grade indium acetate, the indium percentage is 43% (+/- 1.5%).

The indium percentage in this grade is 45% (+/- 0.5%). Some customers have discovered that this grade is optimal for their synthesis process.

This particular product boasts the highest indium percentage among our offerings, standing at 45.5% (+/- 0.5%). It’s largely preferred for cutting-edge synthesis procedures.

Quantum dot consumers often utilize indium chloride as an indium precursor. For GaP and similar quantum dots containing gallium, gallium chloride and gallium acetyl acetonate (gallium acac) are commonly preferred. While indium acetate has been employed in alkaline battery formulations, the alkaline battery sector is increasingly favoring indium chloride and indium hydroxide.
