I am obviously proud that my daughter Jessica Lasky Su defended her PhD thesis this past Friday. She has performed ground breaking work using statistical genetics to analyze attention deficit syndrome to determine potential genes that are linked to this disease.
In the photo below, taken after her defense, she is the one who is also ready to have our second grand child. Her advisor, Professor Ming Tsuang in the final question of her defense, asked her how she would explain her work to a high school student. He went on to say that if you can't explain it to a high school student, you really don't understand it yourself. Hmmm, sounds like the "Grandparent Conjecture" to me.
