Thermal Interface Materials
Compressible Thermal Interface Materials (TIMs)
Metal TIMs offer substantially higher thermal conductivity than any other polymeric options. The thermal conductivity of the metals and alloys are isotropic, meaning they can transfer heat to all directions. Compressible TIMs are made from soft metals and can create a TIM with very low resistance when compressed between two surfaces. These can be used between almost any type of the heat source and heat-sink, heat spreader, or a heat pipe.
