Indium Corporations Ivn Castellanos, technical services manager for Latin America, will host two sessions of an InSIDER Series webinar on the basics of solder paste printing. The first session will be on Wednesday, June 16 at 3 p.m. Mexico City/4 p.m. Eastern, followed by the second session on Wednesday, June 23 at 3 p.m. Mexico City/4 p.m. Eastern.
As the SMT industry evolves and becomes more demanding, it is extremely important to understand the basic principles of the processes. One of the most important initial steps in an SMT process is to properly deposit solder paste on the PCB, which is commonly performed using stencil printing. However, most defects in SMT processes can be related to poor solder paste printing. Refamiliarizing yourself with the basics of the process and ensuring an adequate set up can help to prevent defects in your SMT lines. In two Solder Paste Printing 101 sessions, Castellanos will talk about the solder paste printing process and typical designs of experiments (DOE) that can be used to generate information and data on how the process behaves.
