  • SMTA PanPac is a unique experience. In addition to the obvious draw of Hawaii in January, the conference tends to host thought leaders in the electronics industry. Along with the expected technical papers at an SMTA event, the venue includes a few presentations on topics of general interest. One such paper is on “How We Can Use AI to Personalize Your Health,” by my daughter, Jessica Lasky-Su.

I am presenting a paper on “The Status of Low Temperature Solders” and a general interest paper on “It Ain’t Gonna Happen: Why Planetary Colonization, AI Domination and Global Warming Extinction Are Not Going to Happen.” The latter paper is coauthored by Dartmouth Undergraduate Hailey Mullen. See her photo below. Hailey’s bio is at the end. In addition, Dartmouth Grad student Sierra Freitas is presenting a paper on “Recent Developments and Challenges in Battery Safety with Solid State Technology.”

The hotel is the Westin Hapuna Beach Resort. See the photo below. It is one of my favorites. It is open with a view of the ocean. The beach is great and the sister hotel has a terrific restaurant, the "Copper Bar".

I hope to see you there!

    Cheers,
