From what I have been told, many of our colleagues from across the industry that aren’t vendors are not traveling to Semicon West this year. Should we be worried that it’s just going to be marketing fluff and salesy nonsense? Probably not.
We’ve seen this at other recent events that we were concerned with due to the economy. It turns out that there are less people that show up when times are tough, but the people who still go are usually high-level contacts. For a tech guy like me, that means spending more time with the guys who can partner for a great project, paper, or presentation.
