Indium Corporation expert Iván Castellanos, Technical Services Manager, Latin America, will teach two SMTA Certification courses on SMT Processes this fall.
Castellanos will teach the first SMT Processes course from Oct. 29-31 in Querétaro, Mexico, and the second from Nov. 11-13 in Guadalajara, Mexico. The three-day intensive courses will be taught in both English and Spanish, and will include a one-and-a-half-day workshop followed by an exam. Curriculum topics will include:
- SMT materials component placement
- SMT components reflow soldering
- Stencil printing wave soldering
- Dispensing test and inspection
- Line balancing
The certification program allows participants to establish competitive credentials while also keeping pace with the quickly changing technologies in the industry.
Castellanos supports Indium Corporation’s electronics assembly, semiconductor fabrication and packaging, and thermal management markets. He is based in Guadalajara, Jalisco, Mexico, and has more than 15 years of experience in electronics assembly manufacturing, including SMT production troubleshooting. Castellanos has a Diploma in Electronics and Communications Engineering and is a Certified SMT Process Engineer (CSMTPE). He has also earned his Six Sigma Green Belt from Dartmouth College's Thayer School of Engineering.
