Indium Corporations Associate Vice President of Human Resources, Dawn Roller, provided the keynote address at the School and Business Alliances (SABA) annual breakfast, hosted by Oneida-Herkimer-Madison BOCES, on Tuesday, June 7.
SABA is a school-to-career pathway program which partners with CNY businesses, community agencies, school districts, and regional colleges to provide K-12 students with the opportunities to engage with potential career paths in both classroom and workplace settings. Indium Corporation has been a participant in the program since 2007.
We are proud of the valuable partnerships weve created with OHM BOCES, SABA, and their members while helping to ensure todays students are fully equipped to make informed decisions about post-secondary and career opportunities, said Roller. Our goal is to engage students in the workplace on actual work teams, alongside experienced professionals, ultimately making valuable contributions to our growing, global high-tech manufacturing company. Just as we believe materials science changes the world, we believe students are the next-generation of innovators.
Roller, who also sits on the SABA Board of Directors, oversees Indium Corporations Human Resources department, ensuring that the company remains in full compliance with all requirements and continues to be an employer of choice. She has been instrumental in many significant company developments throughout her career, including the early formation of international sales regions, the startup of several global facilities, and the selection and implementation of various business systems in use today. More recently, she introduced and led Indium Corporations initial STEM outreach program and leads the companys award-winning college internship program. In February 2022, Roller was recognized by the YWCA of the Mohawk Valley in their 33rd Salute to Outstanding Women, which honors eight individuals for making an impact on their industry and local community. She was recognized in the STEAM category for her many contributions to Indium Corporation, the manufacturing industry, and the greater Mohawk Valley.
