Indium Corporation Expert to Discuss Sintering Technology Standardization at IMAPS Autumn Germany 2026

CLINTON, N.Y., October 9, 2026 — Indium Corporation® Regional Technical Manager and Technologist – Advanced Applications Andreas Karch will discuss his work to develop industry standards for sintering technologies used in electronics and power electronics at IMAPS Autumn Germany 2026, October 15-16, in Munich, Germany.

The presentation, titled IEC Protocols: A Study on the Establishment of Standards for Sintering Technologies, will explore Karch’s role in a collaboration between the DKE (German Commission for Electrical, Electronic & Information Technologies) working group and the International Electrotechnical Commission (IEC) to develop and adopt a set of sintering technology standards and safety specifications. The session will provide an overview of pressure, pressure-assisted, and pressureless sintering technologies used in the manufacturing of components and circuits for electronics and power electronics applications. It will also examine sintering materials, processes, equipment, and test methods under consideration for standardization, as well as methods for evaluating the quality and reliability of sintered joints.

Andreas Karch provides technical support to customers in Germany, Austria, and Switzerland, offering process knowledge, technical guidance, and application recommendations for Indium Corporation’s portfolio of solder paste, solder preforms, fluxes, and thermal management materials.

IMAPS Autumn Germany attendees can attend Karch’s presentation at 9:10 a.m. CEST on October 15. To learn more about Indium Corporation’s sintering materials solutions, visit indium.com.
