Indium Corporation Announces Silver Quill Winners

Several Indium Corporation technology experts served as judges for the Clinton High School Science Fair in Clinton, N.Y. on December 6.

Amanda Hartnett, applications engineer; David Socha, marketing and technology specialist; Dr. Robert Ploessl, product manager of compounds; and Dr. Hyoryoon Jo, research chemist; spent the morning evaluating different science projects presented by high school students. Each judge was given five to six different projects to evaluate.

The science fair provides an opportunity for students and faculty to interact with local professionals who have devoted their careers to science. Indium supports this event by offering employees of the technical discipline a chance to volunteer and give feedback to students who share a passion for science. Students can submit projects in categories such as natural science, physical science, math and technology.

Clinton Central School District holds science fairs annually at every educational level; elementary, middle and high school. Winners from the science fair receive cash prizes and scientific gadgets. The top 10 finishers have the opportunity to compete at the regional INTEL Science Fair held at Utica College, in Utica, N.Y.
