Indium Corporation announces that Anthony Piccione, Quality Engineer, has earned his certification by the American Society for Quality (ASQ) as a Quality Engineer.
A Certified Quality Engineer (CQE) is a professional who understands the principles of product and service quality, evaluation, and control. Candidates must have at least eight years of training and on-the-job experience in one or more areas of quality, with a minimum of three years in a decision-making position. CQEs develop and implement quality systems; plan, control, and monitor process quality; use reliability and risk management tools; and apply a wide spectrum of quantitative analyses to resolve quality issues.
According to Peter Andres, President for the American Society for Quality, "ASQ provides certification as a way to provide formal recognition to professionals who have demonstrated an understanding of, and a commitment to, quality techniques and practices in their job and career. This is a great accomplishment and, although not a formal registration or licensure, it represents a high level of peer recognition."

Anthony joined Indium Corporation in 2005 as a Quality Technician and was promoted to Quality Engineer in 2007. He has a bachelor’s degree in Biology from the State University of New York at Oswego and earned his Six-Sigma Green Belt from the Thayer School of Engineering at Dartmouth University.
