Area Sales Manager – Region North

Job Responsibilities
- Working with and reporting to the Associate Sales Director you are responsible for business sales growth year‑on‑year within an allocated territory and achieving or exceeding forecast targets.
- Maintain and grow existing business for soldering products including solder paste, solder wire, Engineered Solder Materials, fluxes, and related materials.
- Target growth with both large OEMs and CEMs, while creating new opportunities within smaller Tier 2 and Tier 3 customers.
- Support the indirect Sales Channel Partner (SCP)/Distributor network through technical, commercial, and product‑related guidance.
- Collaborate with Product Management to communicate market insights, customer needs, and opportunities for new product development.
- Work closely with the Regional Sales Managers and Technical Support Engineers to grow business within the assigned geographical area.
- Liaise with Sales Team and Applications Engineers who can help provide expert technical sales support and guidance to customers and prospects and who will assist with answering technical or material related questions.
- Deliver on‑site customer support for initial product evaluations, trials, and applications.
- Present company information, technical content, and the full product range to customers, prospects, and partners.
- Provide monthly reports and other required documentation in a timely and accurate manner.
- Update and maintain the CRM system daily to ensure accurate customer data, opportunity tracking, and visit reports.
- Support trade shows, exhibitions, and other promotional activities as required.
Requirements
- Technician or experienced practitioner from the field of electronics manufacturing (PCB assembly).
- Strong, practical knowledge of solder paste use, stencil printing, component assembly, and reflow soldering processes.
- Professional experience in roles such as Process Engineer or SMT Production Engineer.
- Solid understanding of electronics principles and proficiency in MS Office applications.
- Excellent spoken and written English and strong presentation skills.
- Previous sales experience with strong sales track record would be an advantage.
- Organised, flexible, and adaptable, with the ability to manage changing priorities.
- Responsible, friendly, confident, and committed to delivering exceptional customer service.
- Strong communication and negotiation skills and a team‑oriented mindset.
- Degree in Engineering or Business required (or equivalent experience).
- 5 years related sales/field experience.
- Full driving license.
- Ability to travel extensively with the region – the UK (including Northern Ireland), Ireland, the Nordics (Norway, Sweden, Finland, Denmark, and Iceland) and the Baltic states (Estonia, Latvia, and Lithuania).
