It's Kind of Fun to Do the Impossible

  • One of my favorite quotes of all time was said by Walt Disney, and it goes, “it’s kind of fun to do the impossible.” These words have spoken to me throughout most of my college career, always being ready to push the boundaries and try something that hadn’t been done before. I experienced that during my time here at Indium Corporation, and I had an amazing support system that pushed me to do the impossible too.

When I was first approached about National Intern Day, the expectation was only to mark it in my calendar and remember to do a social media post the day of the event. However, I wanted to do something that was different, bigger, and that pushed the boundaries a little. I decided to put together an external and internal campaign that would extend the duration of my internship program. This would all need to be managed while also taking care of my daily work. Looking back now, I would not have been able to accomplish all of this without my amazing team.

Jingya: Thank you so much for pushing me to do more, use the talents I had already, and grow in so many other ways. You supported all my ideas, and I can’t thank you enough for your support this summer and for giving me this opportunity to work at Indium Corporation. I will miss you shaking your head at me and laughing as I did so many “interesting” things in the office.

Angela: You are truly the kindest person I have ever met. I have enjoyed working with you every day and gaining so many skills that will serve me throughout the rest of my career. I don’t know what I will do without being able to come up to your cubicle every day and talking about the crazy things happening in my life. Thank you for being the most amazing individual and a gem here at Indium Corporation.

Joy: The movie maker in the making! If I were to say that working with you was an adventure every day, that would be an understatement. You made this one of the best summers I have had in a while. I looked forward to coming to work every day and deciding what exciting place we might go to for lunch. Thank you for teaching me so much this summer and for being an amazing friend.

Anne, Christian, Jason, and Jordan: Thank you for being so welcoming to me this summer and treating me as a full-time employee. I will miss our weekly staff meetings so much and the laughs that would ensue. Thank you for being so supportive of my projects and always being willing to answer my questions.

During my short time at Indium Corporation this summer, I learned that ANYTHING is possible and "it's kind of fun to do the impossible."

    So Long My Friend,
