Unfortunately, my experience this summer at Indium Corporation is coming to a close. I can't believe how fast the 10 weeks blew by. I still remember my first day this year being very nervous and excited. I really didn't know what to expect from the program, my supervisor, or the other interns, which made me even more nervous. All of the people at Indium Corporation were so welcoming that it calmed my nerves immediately.
The work environment at Indium Corporation is exceptional. If I had any questions about anything I could go up to any employee without feeling intimidated or looked down upon because I was an intern. I really appreciated that Indium Corporation treated their interns like full-time employees. None of the interns were ever looked down on or had our ideas questioned because we were still in school. The people here actually wanted our feedback and looked forward to the ideas we brought to this company.
My experience here was exceptional and it wouldn't have been so great if it wasn't for my supervisor Tim Jensen. He has been a great role model to me the past 10 weeks. He was always there for me when I needed him but he also didn't have to walk me through the projects step by step. He trusted me enough to give me a project and run with it. He exposed to me to projects that pushed me out of my comfort zone. I learned much more than I thought from the projects he assigned to me. I realized that I want to be a chemical engineer that can do a variety of different projects that aren't just the typical "chemical engineering" jobs. Thank you so much, Tim, for everything you have done for me the past 10 weeks! I also want to thank the HR department for putting together this internship program. The program has already grown so much from last summer and I know everyone at Indium Corporation will continue to let this program grow. The program wouldn't be the way it is without all of your hard work you all put into it.
This internship program has made me grow as an individual. I have gained so many professional skills that I will continue to use later on in my career path. I am truly grateful that I had this opportunity to work at Indium Corporation again this summer. Without this program I wouldn't be the engineer I am today. It was truly an honor to work for this company and I can't wait to see what is in store in the future!
