Indium News: Solar Windows Made with Quantum Dots

  • Los Alamos National Laboratory recently released news that it is working on double-pane windows which utilize quantum dots to harvest solar energy. If that wasn’t interesting enough: they are using indium (along with copper and selenium) on the back pane – the window uses a two stage “solar-spectrum splitting" arrangement to maximize efficiency.
