Job Responsibilities

The Production Operator I is responsible for performing manual tasks to process and finish products by operating equipment used to mix, mold, and assemble metals and chemicals for distribution to Indium Corporation's customers. The work is primarily directed and performed under close or general supervision.

  • Comply with all safety and security requirements.
  • Operate machinery and other equipment for product processing, which may include any of the following tasks: assembly, adding chemicals, extrusion, and packaging.
  • May work with a variety of metals to cast and create molds, and may also work with a variety of chemicals to manufacture finished products.
  • Follow written procedures and work instructions.
  • Read and interpret blueprints and diagrams with assistance, as needed.
  • Complete the necessary documentation to track work, record scrap, and maintain the accuracy of finished parts and inventory.
  • Maintain the standards required to retain our trade certifications and uphold the high quality standards and practices associated with them.
  • Maintain a consistent work pace and adhere to a schedule.
  • Perform rework as needed.
  • Work with support tools, such as micrometers, gauges, and specialized testing equipment.
  • Produce quality products with minimal scrap.
  • Attend training as needed or assigned.
  • Perform other tasks and special projects as assigned.

Job Requirements

  • High school diploma; two years of verifiable work experience may be considered in lieu of education, or successful completion of a 6-month or shorter production operator internship.
  • Good oral and written communication skills; fluency in English is a plus (preferred)
  • Basic knowledge of mathematics and computer skills.
  • Basic organizational skills.
  • Shift 1: Monday through Friday, 7:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
