Indium Corporation CEO Greg Evans Named Oneida County History Center Living Legend

Indium Corporation CEO Greg Evans was inducted by the Oneida County History Center into the Richard W. Couper Living Legends class of 2021. Evans and his four fellow Living Legends were welcomed, alongside five posthumous inductions, into the History Centers 2021 Historical Hall of Fame class during an awards celebration on Wednesday at Valentinos Banquet Hall in New Hartford.

Evans is a graduate of Whitesboro Central School, Mohawk Valley Community College (AAS Engineering Science), Clarkson University (BS Chemical Engineering) and Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute (MBA). He has worked solely for Indium Corporation during his 40-year professional career and has contributed to virtually every aspect of the companys growth and success. Starting out as a technical service engineer, Evans advanced through several roles including product development engineer, president, and, ultimately, CEO.

I have been blessed to have joined Indium Corporation right out of college. Since that day, and for the past 40 years, I have been a part of a team of dedicated people who are proud to call Oneida County home. I am also so proud of Indium Corporations ability to manufacture in, and export products from, the Mohawk Valley, Evans said. This good fortune has provided me with opportunities to help develop world-changing technologies and materials; to lead the creation of new processes and capabilities; and, most importantly, to help offer advancement opportunities to many who call our community home.

Evans has played an integral role in propelling Indium Corporation to the position of a globally-renowned electronics assembly materials manufacturer, a leading international supplier, and an employer of choice.

I am so proud to have been part of the team growing the company from one building and 60 peopleall in Uticato 15 facilities and 1,200 people worldwide, Evans went on to say. I am also thankful to have been able to serve on various boards and organizations. Along the way, I hope to have inspired and enabled others to serve our community the way I have been given the privilege to do.

More than anything, I am so appreciative of the effort, energy, and positive spirit of my coworkers. I am also thankful for the tenacity and grit of our region which is giving energy to the current renewal of the community in which I was born and raised, and in which my wife and I have raised our children. I offer my sincere thanks to the Oneida County History Center for this recognition.

The Oneida County History Centers Living Legend award, begun in 2001, is named after late History Center benefactor and trustee Richard W. Couper, who also served as president of Hamilton College and the New York Public Library. It serves to recognize notable civic leaders and community advocates who have furthered the regions industries, culture, and educational opportunities.
