Indium Corporation, Utica's Technology Company®, is proud to announce the hiring of three new employees to its Quality and Inside Sales departments.
David Sgroi and Marianne Brown have both been hired as Quality Engineers at Indium Corporation's Clinton Facility; Jodie Friend has been hired as an Account Specialist at the same facility.
Both Sgroi and Brown are responsible for partnering with technical support engineers, manufacturing engineers, and operations staff to meet quality objectives, reduce process variation with data analysis methods, and implement data driven corrective actions as needed. Sgroi and Brown are also responsible for coordinating quality activities with other functions to support supplier management and advanced product quality planning (APQP) processes.
Friend is responsible for the day-to-day support and growth of existing customers. She identifies and nurtures new business opportunities, while working closely with the internal and external sales and technical teams. She also responds to customer phone calls, faxes, and emails.
Sgroi brings more than ten years of industry experience to his new role at Indium Corporation.
He was previously a laboratory supervisor with Sovena USA, where he also held positions as a lead chemical analyst, a senior laboratory technician, and a quality control technician. He earned a bachelor's degree in chemistry and a master's degree in chemistry from the State University of New York College of Environmental Science and Forestry.
Brown previously worked for Indium Corporation from 2005-2007 as a quality technician. Most recently, she worked for twelve years at CONMED as a Lead Chemist. She earned her master's degree in secondary science teaching, in addition to a bachelor's degree in biology with a minor in chemistry from the State University of New York at Potsdam.
Friend previously worked at Lifetime Benefit Solutions as a COBRA Premium Billing Account Manager. She earned her associate degree in psychology from Columbia College.
