It contains features white, flake-shaped particles that dissolve easily in water and mineral acids. This compound serves as a key starting material for producing other inorganic and organic indium compounds. IndiTri® is used in alkaline batteries to improve performance and reduce outgassing, as well as in quantum dot production and catalysis.

Indium Trichloride Type A
IndiTri® Type A showcases a delicate, snowflake-like structure with a lower apparent density than Type H indium trichloride. Type A is well-suited for chemical synthesis, offering a more reactive surface area. Its fine, flake-shaped particles are perfect for applications that demand a high surface area to volume ratio.
Indium Trichloride Type H
IndiTri® Type H is known for its high-density, glassy, and lustrous characteristics. It is ideal for applications requiring a dense and stable form of InCl3 to closely manage reaction kinetics. This variant is commonly employed in synthesizing indium-metalorganic compounds like tri-methyl-indium (TMI), which are pivotal in Metal-Organic Chemical Vapor Deposition (MOCVD) processes. It also serves as a beneficial additive in alkaline batteries, enhancing performance and reducing outgassing.
